I had a fair this past Saturday, it was a combination school fair and vendor market. The rain held off at first, but in the early afternoon, the skies opened up and the fair closed up early.
As a fair, I think it was great; they had a magic show and face painting, the police brought their dogs for a show and the local martial arts school performed as well. For the vendors however, it was a little quiet.
My Star Wars gang didn’t garner as much interest as normal, maybe they were a little hidden among everything else this time, but Will.I.Am.(A.)Worm certainly got some notice. I think the kids didn’t know whether I had inserted a real worm into the soap or not.
My highlights from the fair was when a little girl gave me the thumbs up when I asked her if she liked the smell of the stormtroopers (coconut scented), and the young lady who bought a lip balm. I gave her a little knitted pouch (the one on the bottom) to hold her balm, and her mom asked how much it cost. I told her it was free, that I wanted to give it to her and the mother was very appreciative. The young lady leaned in and told me that pink is her favourite colour.
The positives about doing any fair, is meeting new people, reacquainting with other vendors and making people smile.
Hope you have a great week!
